AnonymoUS: Self Marketing Workshop

To give all actors of a theater company complete anonymity is a radical idea. Ever since the birth of stage craft, the face and the myth of the artist have been central to theater marketing in the performing arts. That performing artists are vain is a well-known cliché. AnonymoUS is very different: A number of performers have decided to become unrecognized. That was a radical decision, but quite a successful marketing idea. Just as the "Anonymous" movement has created a very strong and successful international brand in spite of their more anti-marketing stance, AnonymoUS was very successful in producing their play "Insight Men" in Berlin.
