Cultural Policy Update for the Federal Republic of Germany
Cultural Policy Update for the Federal Republic of Germany
Dance, theater and performance in Germany often seem to be the focus of cultural policy at the moment: ideas for networking and professionalizing the communities are being initiated in many states and regions and, in many places, the funding has been significantly increased, even doubled in some cases! First of all, the results of the national forum initiated by Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste (the German Federal Association of the Independent Performing Arts) and Fonds Darstellende Künste will be presented, which intensely investigated existing funding structures and made suggestions for improvements. After this, representatives of Dachverband Tanz Deutschland and Bundesverband freie darstellende Künste will summarize the most important developments of the past years: where has funding been increased? What kinds of new funding opportunities are out there? And, beyond questions pertaining to cultural policy, we will also discuss the state of social insurance for independent artists. What do plans for Grundrente, or a basic pension, mean for workers who do not pay mandatory social insurance contributions?
In cooperation with Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste, Dachverband Tanz Deutschland, Bündnis für Freie Darstellende Künste and Fonds Darstellende Künste.
With: Stephan Behrmann (Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste), Holger Bergmann (Fonds Darstellende Künste), Michael Freundt (Dachverband Tanz Deutschland).
