Between Performance and Contemporary Art: Presenting Interdisciplinary Projects – PART 1/3
Language: English, questions can also be asked in German, Portuguese, Spanish
Access: This event will take place online, access to it will be provided upon registration.
Please note: 3 dates. The number of participants is limited.
In this workshop, using the examples of works that the participants bring with them, we will discuss how performances can be presented in museum, public and commercial galleries as well as art fairs. How do you organize an independent performance project in a space for contemporary art? Where can these projects be presented and to what kind of audience? The workshop will lay out the production steps for realizing a performance in a space for visual art. A special focus will be placed on the text work for presenting your project. Participants can bring their own performance projects or performance ideas with them to the workshop and we will discuss the suggestions together. The goal is also to cultivate a critical awareness of the process of artistic (performance) work: what responsibilities do I hold for artistic decisions? What challenges within the current culture debates do I have to bear in mind? How can (performance) art be newly formulated in specific areas, such as colonial history?
