Open Call: Shared Trade Fair Stand at the KinderKulturBörse (Children’s Cultural Exchange) in Munich
The KinderKulturBörse, or Children’s Cultural Exchange, has been taking place annually since the year 2000 with up to 90 presenters and 700 visiting industry professionals and is one of the most important networking events for children’s and youth theater in the German-speaking world. This year, the event is being held at Pasinger Fabrik in Munich. On September 22 and 23, the Berlin Performing Arts Program will attend this event for the first time and will be represented by a shared trade fair stand and is offering Berlin-based artists the opportunity to present themselves and their work at the trade fair stand.
The Berlin Performing Arts Program is able to cover the admission fees as well as the costs for travel and accommodation for a limited number of participants. A prerequisite for taking part is a long history of professional work within the independent performing arts and a primary residence in Berlin. In addition, each participant must at least one production that has already premiered and is capable of being toured that can be presented at the trade fair with corresponding print and possibly video trailer material.
Due to the measures in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the number of persons allowed at the trade fair is limited. In order to make it possible for as many Berlin-based artists to take part as possible, we providing the option of presenting work at the trade fair stand either on September 22 or on September 23. We ask theater groups to please send one person to Munich as their representative. At the moment, we are assuming that only 2 or 3 artists can present at the stand per day; it will first be possible to definitively clarify the exact number with the development of the measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus in September.
We would like to give as many artists as possible the option of taking part, but we do reserve the right to make a selection on the basis of the promotional material provided in the event that there are more applicants than there is space.
Application
Anyone who would like to take part is asked to please send a binding application including links with informative digital promotional material (trailer, websites, flyers in PDF form, et cetera - and please send large files via WeTransfer) with the subject “KinderKulturBörse” by September 12, 2021 to: messen2021 [at] pap-berlin.de
We will then need additional print promotional material from the selected artists (max. 100 flyers / brochures or similar materials and possibly 3 or 4 small posters). These should arrive at the Berlin Performing Arts Program office in Ballhaus Ost by September 17, at the latest.
