A Round of Information and Discussion "Understanding Requests for Repayment of the Soforthilfe II Emergency Assistance Funds"

Everyone who applied for emergency assistance funds due to the COVID-19 pandemic from the Soforthilfe II program last year recently received a message from the Investionsbank Berlin (IBB) asking them to compare the funding provided with what was actually needed for their enterprise. In particular, the liquidity shortfall should be presented as precisely as possible and, in the event of overcompensation, that portion of the funds should be repaid. Due to the large number of applications, the IBB is unable to provide further information, which has resulted in a number of unresolvable questions for many people at the moment. Over the course of a round of discussion with the attorney Carl Altewischer, we will clarify the most pressing questions regarding a possible overcompensation, liquidity shortfalls and which expenditures can be taken into account for this as well as the offsetting of emergency assistance funds and stipends or the unemployment programs ALG I or ALG II.
