Shaping and Changing – Information Event on Anti-Discrimination Struggles in Art and Culture I

How structures be created in the art and culture sector in which people can really work safely while being protected against discrimination? What foundations do the Allgemeine Gleichbehandlungsgesetz (the German Anti-Discrimination Act) or the work of anti-discrimination offices provide? What prevention and sensitization measures are urgently necessary? What points of contact and advisement offices or networks exist in the event of racist incidents or sexual violence? What strategies exist for fighting against structural discrimination? What specific approaches or methods such as anti-racism clauses or self-obligations are being planned or have already been implemented in working practice by artists, independent groups, companies, producing institutions, theaters and other institutions?

Representatives of trust centers, advisement centers, initiatives, networks, artistic practice and legal experts offer initial insight into their work and expertise. After this, we look forward to an intensive exchange regarding what already exists as well as what is still missing. A continuation of the event and the establishment of an ongoing collection of information are planned.

TATWERK is accessible for people with mobility impairments and users of wheelchairs via an elevator. There is very little room to maneuver within the lavatories and no additional equipment for those with mobility impairments. We would be very happy to hear from you if you have further questions regarding this matter or would like to let us know about a special need.
